Terminator Salvation – Movie Review

terminator salvation
I went into this movie hearing that it sucked and wasn’t very good. Dont listen to those reviews! T4 is a fantastic action flick. It is packed to the brim with explosions and well put together action sequences. I will start off by saying that its not better then T2. But in my opinion, its next on the list.

The Story may not be the most complex in the world and the surprise twist you can see coming a mile away (not to mention it was shown in the trailers). But this is a pure popcorn movie. It is fun and just screams “Awesome”.

Christian Bale brings his raw intensity that he brings to most roles he plays. He is the best John Connor in any of the films. But the odd thing is, he doesn’t play the main character in the movie. That part goes to Sam Worthington playing Marcus Wright. He steals every scene he is in and its easy to see why he gets more screen time. Anton Yelchin plays a young Kyle Reese. This role suits him much better then his one in Star Trek. (Of coarse he doesn’t have a stupid accent which helps.)

This is by far the most exciting Terminator cause the action doesn’t stop. It would have been nice to have a little more time with the characters to get to know and care about them. I think they were banking on people already knowing who some of these characters are so they didn’t have to worry about that.

The Good
– Sam Worthington proves why he is going to be one of Hollywood’s newest stars.
– Balls to the Walls Action
– A very welcome surprise near the end made me very happy

The Bad
– More John Connor and his relationships with the other characters would have been nice.
– Helena Bonham Carter was annoying

Terminator Salvation is action film for action fans. If you are looking for deep story, go see something else cause that ain’t here. But i highly recommend it for a fun time at theater.

Overall Rating: 8.0/10

Surprisingly Night at the Museum 2 beat Terminator at the box office this weekend. It made $70 Mil and T4 only took in $51 Mil for a 5 Day total of $65 Mil. My Predictions were way off.

May Movie Madness

may movies

May kicks off Summer Movie season. With the X-men prequel Wolverine on May 1st. The reboot of Star Trek on May 8th. The Da Vinci Code follow-up Angels & Demons on May 15th. The Terminator is back on May 21 along with the sequel to Night at the Museum on the 22nd. Then finally Disney Pixar’s UP on May 29th.

Which of these Blockbusters are you most excited to see?

But who will win the may 2009 opening weekend Box Office?
My predictions:

Wolverine – $84 Million
Star Trek – $71 Million
Angels & Demons – $62 Million
Terminator Salvation – $79 Million
Night at the Museum 2 – $29 Million
Up – $58 Million

New Terminator Salvation Trailer

This could be one of the best trailers i have ever seen.
I am not a big Terminator fan. Out of the 3 movies, I only liked T2, and i’m not very fond of the tv show… But after watching this trailer i am officially pumped to see this movie! Check it out.
